Kim has had a passion for fitness all her life but hated the regular gym setting. As a kid she played soccer and participated in Irish dance, break dancing, and cheerleading. As an adult, Kim enrolled in karate where she trained for 7 years, earned her black belt and became an assistant instructor. One day a friend asked Kim to try the circus arts and she knew she found her true calling.
Kim has studied under William and Jennifer of Aerial Arts of Rochester, with Cirque du Soleil Artist Ann Stimmel and at The Philadelphia School of Circus Arts. Kim has completed a rigging workshop with Jonathan Duels. She is certified in First Aid, CPR and AED and is a certified personal trainer. Kim is currently performing with the UP! State Cirque Troupe on the Aerial Silks, Aerial Hoop, Aerial Hammock, Chains, Corde Lisse and Cube. She has been a lead instructor for Aerial Arts of Rochester instructing a wide variety of classes and workshops.
Kim earned her B.A. in Biology from Brockport State College in 2008 and her Masters in Special Education from Grand Canyon University in 2013, She is a certified special education teacher through the state of NY and has been working with special needs youth both in the classroom and aerial studio settings. Kim has organized and run the youth camps, classes and performances where kids ages 4-14 have an opportunity to build their skills through play in a safe environment where spotting and technique are the focus.
In 2016, Kim took home a gold metal at the Central Pole and Aerial Championships for Aerial Hoop! Her goal is to help other's explore their passion for the circus arts and get a great workout in the process.
