A Buffalo native, Katie Cimato has traveled the world extensively including the US, Canada, Central and South America, Europe, and the Middle East. She is a graduate of Colorado State University, where she received a Master of Arts in 2013. In 2010, she received her Bachelor of Arts from Ithaca College. Her professional experiences include administration, teaching, and communications. As a professional, Katie has had a powerful impact on the arts community, including state and non-profit institutions. Currently, she serves as the Production Coordinator for University at Buffalo's Center for the Arts, as an Aerial Instructor and Performer for Up Aerial Fitness, and is in process of entrepreneurial development as a visual artist. Katie is first aid trained and CPR certified.
When she was younger, Katie danced for 13 years under David DeMarie Dance Studios and was a part of their competition teams. She traveled annually to different local, state, and country wide competitions performing jazz, modern, tap, and ballet. Part of her training also included taking yoga classes which she continue after leaving dance. Recent;y, Katie has been training at Up! Aerial Fitness with a primary focus on hammock but continues to expand her aerial and teaching practices. In her free time, Katie can be found hiking, wandering artisan markets, or playing card games.
